Social commitment

Marico Chrome Mine is committed to our Social and Labour Plan. The surrounding villages are Maroelakop and Mmasebudule, which houses small populations that are in a remote location. Marico Chrome Mine has endeavoured to assist and support these local villages. Part of our SLP is to offer preference on employment opportunities to the people of these villages. Marico Chrome Mine has established a routine support plan which includes but is not limited to:

• Providing infrastructure to the Mmasebudule Primary School in the form of IT equipment and consumables
• Providing food parcels to the children of the Mmasebudule Primary School
• Grading and maintaining haul roads when in a deteriorated state
• Grazing areas for livestock within the mining area
• Transport for children to preschool
• Employing dependants of families who have lost bread winners at Marico Chrome Mine
• Contracting local service providers to perform gardening services and general vegetation control
• Contracting local service providers to install, erect and maintain boundary fencing
